Professional Administrative Services Program (Tier II)
Call for Applications for 09-10 school year
How one year can rejuvenate and support you in becoming a stronger school leader
PROGRAM DESIGN - 6 units per quarter for 3 quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- Coursework (3 units for each of 3 quarters) - Classes meet one Saturday
a month (September - May) with additional on-line work between classes.
- Ongoing fieldwork with a mentor administrator and university supervisor
(3 units for each of 3 quarters) - individual support for candidates focusing
on current issues and professional development needs.
- Offered through Continuing Education for a cost of approximately $875 a
quarter for a total program cost of $2625.
PROGRAM FOCUS
- To provide an ongoing source for sharing tools, ideas, resources, and
approaches for meeting the challenges associated with being a school leader
- To provide participants with a consistent and confidential structure
of emotional support
- To increase participant’s ability to effectively build the capacity of
the colleagues they supervise, with particular emphasis on improving teachers’
instructional skills
- To support participants to develop, articulate, implement and assess their
own Administrative Professional Learning Plan (APLP)
- To create a Professional Learning Portfolio (PLP) to capture major areas of
growth and set out a long term plan for continued development as a bold,
socially responsible leader
- To critically examine texts and other resources and apply them to leadership
practice
