Doctorate in Educational (Ed.D.) Leadership for Social Justice
This is a great moment in the 50-year history of Cal State East Bay. We’re proud that the university will have an even greater role in enhancing the qualifications of administrators in schools.

Cal State East Bay
The Educational Leadership for Social Justice (ELSJ) seeks to develop a new type of executive leadership for PK-12 schools. Students in the ELSJ will be engaged in studies, activities and skill building that will help them become courageous school leaders who will demonstrate bold, socially responsible leadership to address and resolve issues that have impacted the achievement and success of students of color, and other marginalized students and communities of California's PK-12 public schools.
Students in the ELSJ doctoral program engage in a rigorous curriculum and scholarly research in a supportive professional learning community that helps candidates become bold, socially responsible school leaders. Through a cohort model, students have the opportunity to learn from and work with nationally acclaimed, interdisciplinary faculty and exemplary practicing administrators who have a deep understanding and commitment to Social Justice and Equity.
