Former Ohlone College and James Logan High School coach Will Biggs begins his 10th year as head coach of the Pioneers. Cal State East Bay men's basketball team finished the 2005-06 campaign with a record of 17-9. For the eighth consecutive season, the Pioneers competed in Cal Pac Conference Post Season Tournament. Nationally, Cal State East Bay led NAIA II in steals (12.8) and turnover margin (7.1). The Pioneers were second in scoring offense (89.6 ppg). Cal State East Bay set three school records for most points in a game (149), most field goals in a game (67), and field goal percentage in a contest (.736 FG%). During the 2004-05 season, Biggs became the all-time winningest men's basketball coach at Cal State East Bay with his 138th victory. The 2004-05 Pioneers finished the season with a 19-9 record and came within one game of reaching the NAIA Nationals for the fifth time in the last seven years. During the 2004-05 campaign, the Pioneers set 12 school records including offensive scoring average (93.8ppg) and steals (443). Biggs led the 2003-04 Pioneer men's basketball team to a 19-10 record and a fourth appearance in the NAIA National Championships. The Pioneers scored 90 or more points in nine games including a season-high 117 versus Holy Names University. During the 2002-03 season, Cal State East Bay captured the Cal Pac Conference Playoff Championships and appeared in NAIA post-season play for the third time. In 2000-01 the Pioneers finished 17-9 and 11-3 in the Cal Pac. During the 1999-2000 campaign, the Pioneers won 20 games for the second straight year at 20-9 and won the California Pacific Conference post-season tournament in thrilling fashion with a 77-74 overtime victory over Holy Names University in the finals. As the conference tournament champions, the Pioneers earned their second straight invitation to the NAIA Division II National Championships. Like the 1998-99 squad, the Pioneers won their first round game earning sweet 16 honors. During the 1998-99 season, the Pioneers concluded their most successful season since the 1996-97 campaign with a 22-6 record and were co-champions of the Cal Pac Conference with an 18-2 mark. Cal State East Bay earned its first post-season appearance since 1987-88. The Pioneers were ranked fourth nationally in the NAIA in margin of victory (16.32) and 13th nationally in scoring (85.9ppg) and rebound margin (6.29). The Pioneers .807 winning percentage set a team record as did their scoring average of 85.9 points per game. Four times the Pioneers eclipsed the 100-point barrier. Biggs owns the best overall record among the all-time Pioneer men's basketball coaches at 155-94.
Biggs served as head coach of Ohlone College from 1995-97. Much of Biggs' success came at James Logan High School where he coached from 1982-92. Biggs guided the Colts to five Mission Valley Athletic league titles with five in a row from 1984-88. The Colts played in three straight Northern California Finals winning it in 1985. Biggs' overall record at Logan High School was an impressive 211-93.
Biggs received his B.A. in Physical Education from UC Santa Barbara in 1978 and his M.A. in Physical Education from CSU Hayward in 1988.
