PIONEERS FALL TO WESTERN WASHINGTON IN OPENER
HAYWARD, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team opened the 2009-10 season with a loss at home to Western Washington, 88-55, on Friday night. The Pioneers were led by junior point guard Claudia Nelson's 18 points, but struggled to contain the Viking offense and junior guard Amanda Dunbar, who paced all players with 28. Click for more

2009-10 PIONEER WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PREVIEW
HAYWARD, Calif. - With a roster that features 10 new faces, including four community college standouts, the 2009-10 Cal State East Bay women's basketball team looks set to make an impact in its first year competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and Division II. Under second-year Head Coach Toni West, the Pioneers will face a challenging schedule that features four 2009 NCAA Tournament teams, including two West Region semifinalists in Humboldt State and UC San Diego.
