PIONEER WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM FINISHES NINTH IN CCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Pioneer women's cross country team placed ninth out of 12 teams in the CCAA Championships hosted by Humboldt State on October 24. Cal State East Bay finished with a team score of 257. KELLY GUERRERO placed 35th to lead all Pioneer women runners. Guerrero covered the 6K course in 24:40.3. NANCY VELAZQUEZ finished in 40th place with a time of 24:51.0. CLARIVEL VEGA placed 58th (25:41.6), GABRIELLA CRUZ 61st (25:48.6), and KRISTIN PARKER 71st (25:59.0). MEGAN MCDANIEL and NASTASSIA HAMOR finished 79th and 80th respectively to round out the Pioneers performance in the CCAA Championships.

CAL STATE EAST BAY MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM PLACES SEVENTH IN CCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Pioneer men's cross country team finished seventh out of eight teams in the CCAA Championships hosted by Humboldt State on October 24. Cal State East Bay had a team score of 227. The Pioneers were led by MICHAEL LUCERO who placed 46th with an 8K time of 28:31.3. ANDREW WELCH was timed in 29:14.5 to finish in 44th place. FRANCISCO PULIDO placed 46th (29:34.1) followed by ERIC RODRIGUEZ who finished 47th with a time of 29:41.6. JOHN ERLANDSON and JOE CASTRO placed 48th and 49th respectively.

PIONEER WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM FINISHES SECOND IN SANTA CLARA BRONCO INVITATIONAL

An impressive team performance enabled the Pioneer women's cross country team to finish second out of 14 teams in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on October 17. NANCY VELAZQUEZ had her best run of the season placing sixth with a 5K time of 19:12. KELLY GUERRERO finished 20th with a time of 19:44. CLARIVEL VEGA was timed in 20:12 to finish in 39th place.

PIONEER WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES FIFTH IN DESERT TWILIGHT XC FESTIVAL

The Pioneer women's cross country team finished fifth in the Desert Twilight XC Festival hosted by Arizona State on October 2. NANCY VELAZQUEZ led all CSUEB runners with a 17th place finish. Velazquez covered the 3-mile run in 18:35.0. CLARIVEL VEGA placed 20th with a time of 19:00.2. GABRIELLA CRUZ was timed in 19:18.6 to finish in 23rd place. KELLY GUERRERO finished in 26th place with a clocking of 19:33.1.

PIONEER MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES EIGHTH IN DESERT TWILIGHT XC FESTIVAL

The Pioneer men's cross country team placed eighth in the team standings of the Desert Twilight XC Festival hosted by Arizona State on October 2. The Pioneers were led by MICHAEL LUCERO who finished in 36th place. Lucero covered the 3-mile run in 16:20.7. ANDREW WELCH finished 38th with a time of 16:35.5. FRANCISCO PULIDO (16:55.6), JOE CASTRO (16:57.6), and ERIK RODRIGUEZ (16:58.1) finished 42nd, 43rd, and 44th respectively.

PIONEER WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS PLACES THIRD IN WESTMONT INVITATIONAL

A solid team performance enabled the Pioneer women's cross country team to finish third in the Westmont Invitational on September 19. MEGAN MCDANIEL led all Pioneers runners with an eighth place finish. McDaniel covered the 5K course in 20:34. KRISTIN PARKER ran a strong race to finish 10th with a time of 20:47. NANCY VELAZQUEZ and GABRIELLA CRUZ finished 13th (21:00) and 14th (21:09) repectively. KELLY GUERRERO was clocked in 21:35 to finish in 19th place. CLARIVEL VEGA rounded out a solid Pioneer showing by finishing 22nd with a time of 21:50.

The Pioneer men's team finished 9th with a team score of 232 points. Cal State East Bay was led by FRANCISCO PULIDO who finished in 38th place. Pulido covered the 8k course in 29:04. MICHAEL LUCERO placed 45th with a time of 29:34.

The Pioneer women's cross country team finished fourth in the CSUMB Invitational on September 5. NANCY VELAZQUEZ led all Cal State East Bay runners with a clocking of 18:42 good for 12th place. KRISTIN PARKER finished in 16th place with a time of 18:48. CLARIVEL VEGA was 26th in 19:29 while GABRIELLA CRUZ placed 28th with a time of 19:47.
