| 2008 CSUEB CAMPAIGN:Neely enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign with 803 assists, a team-best 52 service aces, and 247 digs. She recorded 40 or more assists in four matches including a season-high 48 against the University of Puget Sound. Neely had a season-best six service aces against Whittier College. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:Neely prepped at Lancaster High School where she was named league most valuable player. During her senior campaign as a setter and outside hitter, Neely had 120 kills and 90 service aces. Neely also excelled in judo where she ranked 8th in the U.S.A. in 2005 while capturing the State and National titles. She placed 2nd in the Pan American games. PERSONAL: An International Studies major...Born October 3, 1989...Parents are Michael and Lida Neely...Has one older brother...Interests include playing the piano and guitar, judo, painting, and Persian language and culture...Athlete she models herself after is Misty May-Treanor...Person she admires is her father...Biggest influence in volleyball is Steve Bell-judo coach who strived Roxanne to push limits and become the best athlete she can be...Chose Cal State East Bay because of the committed coaching staff and passionate teammates...Also, it's a great area.
