There are scholarships available for entering credential students, current credential students, and graduate students. For further information and applications, please contact the Department of Teacher Education unless a different contact is listed in the specifics for that award category. Please note that deadlines for scholarships other than those offered through Teacher Education are not verified; contact the particular agency involved for confirmation.

State of California Assumable Loan Program
Up to $11,000 in approved loans forgiven for candidates accepted into the program (CSUEB awards about 15 per year). Fall Quarter entrants to Teacher Education
Proof of baccalaureate student loan debt.
Agree to teach in the State of California for three years in math, science, bilingual education, or in low-income areas.
Letter from Department of Teacher Education on candidate's behalf.

BPEP - Bachelors Plus Early Entry Program
State of California
Up to 25 - $1,000 scholarships available for math and science single subject credential candidates.

Two (2) intensive summer Teacher Education sessions between the sophomore-junior, and junior-senior years.

Teach California   The Cal Grant T is for teacher credential candidates who have a baccalaureate degree and plan to attend a teacher credential program.  Awards are to be used only for tuition/fees for a maximum of one academic year of full-time attendance.  A minimum of 3,000 new Cal Grant T awards are to be issued each year.

As a condition of receiving a Cal Grant T, a recipient must teach for one year at a low-performing school for each $2,000 of award money received, for a maximum period of four years. Any recipient who does not meet the teaching obligation will be required to repay the award.
   
Cal Grant   This grant is awarded to school districts that has difficulty finding fully credentialed teachers, and has the capacity (either as a district intern or part of a university intern program) to train second career professionals to become teachers.    
Intern/Pre-intern Grant   This grant is awarded to school districts that has difficulty finding fully credentialed teachers, and has the capacity (either as a district intern or part of a university intern program) to train second career professionals to become teachers.    
Extra Credit Teacher Home Purchase Program   The Extra Credit Teacher Program (ECTP) is designed to make homeownership a possibility for eligible teachers, administrators, classified employees and staff members working in high priority schools in California.

The ECTP is intended to help high priority schools attract and retain education professionals by offering an incentive in the form of down payment assistance for the purchase of a home anywhere in California.
