Character Education

Educational resources that support the formation of caring, capable and socially responsible youth. Resources include quotations, writing prompts, books, questions, poems, songs, graphics and bulletin board ideas. These resources develop character traits such as being respectful and responsible and social and emotional skills such as mediation and perspective taking as well as academically connected service learning. |

Project Partners

Funded under a "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology" grant from the U. S. Department of Education as a joint venture of New Haven Unified School District and CSUEB-Dept. of Teacher Education in partnership with the Center for Accessible Technology, and Chabot Observatory and Science Center. The foci are to 1) bring technology integration to all Curriculum & Instruction courses thus modeling technology inclusive instruction for candidates; 2) create an online library of tech-inclusive lessons for both K-12 instruction and for university C & I classes; and, 3) create videos of tech-inclusive K-12 teaching, which can then be used in a variety of ways in C & I classrooms. |

Project S.O.A.R.

Funded by the G.E.A.R. UP initiative through the U. S. Department of Education. CSU East Bay partners with Oakland Public Schools, Peralta Community College District, and the Oakland Community Partnership. This project focuses on 14 of Oakland's Middle Schools and provides academic and advising support services to the 7th grader's who aspire to a college education. |

Project Dreams
|
Project DREAMS is a multi-tiered, rigorous transition to teaching program that unites California State University, East Bay, the Oakland, Ravenswood, Patterson Joint, and West Contra Costa Unified School Districts; as well as the cities of Hayward, Oakland, and Richmond. This collaborative initiative strives to meet the school districts' published shortages of credentialed teachers. The Projects' goal is to recruit and support qualified students enrolled in CSUEB Programs. Use these links to access a brochure and an application. |
