What is it?
The WCCUSD/CSU East Bay Partnership Program is an alternative certification program in which theory and practice are uniquely blended. In this program, multiple subject and single subject teacher credential candidates are employed full-time by the WCCUSD. As teaching Interns, they earn a salary, with benefits, while they complete their CSU East Bay credential course work. Student teachers who choose the traditional credential preparation pathway may be included in this program as well.
More details
Most university coursework is offered within the WCCUSD, a 32,00 student school district, located just north of Berkeley. The program is completed in four quarters, beginning with the summer quarter. District and school site support for the credential candidate is a strong component of the program. The WCCUSD is committed to recruiting and retaining as credentialed teachers those Interns who have completed this program and are qualified to serve the students of a diverse urban district.
