THE UNIVERSITY: California State University, East Bay is known for

study. There are two scenic campuses - one in the Hayward Hills overlooking San

to the major Bay Area cities provides unique cultural opportunities including
museums, art galleries, aquariums, planetariums, plays, musicals, sports events,

offers recreational diversion as well as excellent laboratories for educational
studies. The ten major buildings of the Hayward Hills campus, on 342 acres,

which contains a collection of over one million items accessible through HAYSTAC,
its on-line catalog. CSUEB’s Concord Campus provides full instructional support
for over 1,600 upper division and graduate students. Its five buildings on 395
acres feature lecture halls, seminar rooms, computer labs, science labs, an art
studio, theatre and library. The University has an enrollment of approximately
13,000 students with 600 faculty. CSUEB is organized into four colleges: Letters,
Arts, and Social Sciences; Business and Economics; Education and Allied Studies;
and Science. The University offers bachelor's degrees in 45 fields, minors in 66

THE DEPARTMENT: The department is one of five within the College of
Education and Allied Studies and offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science
degrees in Kinesiology. The department takes a disciplinary approach to the study
of Kinesiology and its related professions. Undergraduate options include:
Physical Education Teaching, Pre Athletic Training, Exercise Nutrition and
Wellness, and Pre Physical Therapy. There are nearly 300 undergraduate and
50 graduate students enrolled in the program.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Instruct undergraduate level courses related
to sport and culture. Courses include, but may not be limited to the following:
Women & Sport, Sport & Film, Racism & Sport, and Sport History. Please note that
teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses
at both the Hayward and Concord campuses. In addition to teaching, all faculty
have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or
committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.
RANK AND SALARY: Lecturer B. Salary is dependent upon educational

for Level I, Specialist Credentials Programs. Teach graduate and credential courses
and supervise students in the Specialist Credential programs. Advise and supervise
students’ academic coursework, fieldwork in schools, and professional preparation.
RANK AND SALARY: Lecturer. Salary dependent upon educational preparation/experience,
and subject to budgetary authorization.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Special Education with emphasis in Mild/Moderate
Disabilities. ABD considered. Background and experience in teaching students with and
without disabilities in K-12 public schools, and in educating and supervising special

training of general and special educators desirable. Special education credentials

currently in the process of developing an independent doctoral program to begin

of Preliminary Administrative Services Credential candidates. Supervise fieldwork for

QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate in education, educational leadership or a field
directly related to school leadership and reform, human resources or curriculum;
significant knowledge of school issues, policies, legal constraints and strategies;
recent public school leadership experience required; principalship experience preferred;
knowledge of instructional strategies to engage adults in constructivist learning;
successful public school work on equity of educational results, evidence-based decision
making, democratic processes, building professional community; and a commitment to teach,
advise and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds; commitment
to shared leadership and collaboration with department colleagues. Demonstrated ability
to teach, advise and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: School or school district or school reform effort

THE DEPARTMENT: Housed within the College of Education and Allied
Studies, the Interdisciplinary Studies program is built on the recognition that
there are some issues that cross disciplines or professional areas in the field
of education. It develops cross-disciplinary courses and experiences for students
at the same time it provides a base for those subjects, programs, and faculty
not currently embraced by any one department. Interdisciplinary Studies offers
both the certificate and the M.S. in Education, Option in Online Teaching &
Learning.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION: The Interdisciplinary Studies program seeks
a full-time, 12-month lecturer to teach courses in the M.S. in Education, Option
in Online Teaching & Learning program. The position also involves serving as
graduate co-coordinator for the program, under the supervision of the current
graduate coordinator, advising students, overseeing course re-design and updating
to meet the Accessible Technology Initiative requirements, creating and overseeing
online internships, and working with the Online & Hybrid Support Center director
and staff. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University,

RANK AND SALARY: Instructor, twelve months. Salary is dependent upon
